Our hotel restaurant offers a buffet breakfast, in which you can enjoy the most appetising dishes. We also offer a special gluten free breakfast. This service is complemented with our Restaurant, where you can enjoy exquisite meals fit for those who love fine dining. The Don Yo Zaragoza Hotel´s Restaurant is named after the hotel´s old name. It is located on the mezzanine and has natural lighting. You can access it directly from the hotel by lift, and there is a separate entrance on Calle Bruil. It is an open and welcoming space with a private function room annex for family or business functions. It offers exclusive, signature cuisine that perfectly combines traditional flavours with innovative contemporary recipes. We also have a carefully selected wine cellar- famous among those who love fine dining. It is a must when visiting Zaragoza.

Making the Hotel Don Yo our starting point, there are different options on offer to make your stay in Zaragoza the most pleasant and varied as possible

We will leave the hotel in the morning with the intention of visiting the Basilica del Pilar, a pleasant stroll that takes no longer than 15 minutes! Walking down Paseo de la Independencia, a boulevard from the middle of the 19th century, we will come to the Plaza de España and calle del Coso. From here we will go on to calle Alfonso I, one of the main streets in the old quarter that stands out due to its beautiful buildings and the view of the Basilica del Pilar at the end of the street.

Already in the Plaza del Pilar where, apart from the Basilica, we can’t miss the Lonja (a market place building from the Renaissance period), the Fuente de la Hispanidad (a fountain in the shape of South America to celebrate all Spanish speaking countries), the Town Hall, the Monument for Goya, the Roman Museums and not forgetting: The San Salvador or the Seo Cathedral, one of the most beautiful architectural collections in the city. The Romanesque apse, the Mudejar style Wall of the Parochial Chapel, the Gothic Main Altarpiece, the elegant Baroque tower, the Neoclassic façade and the Tapestry Museum make it very attractive to visitors.

Entering into the Basilica del Pilar where not only will we worship Our Patron Saint the Virgin of the Pilar, but we will also be able to contemplate the Regina Martyrum Dome, work of Francisco de Goya, to enter the Pilar Museum (16th-20th centuries) where we can appreciate the famous collection of fabrics and jewels, donated to the virgin, to climb the tower and have a fantastic view of the whole city of Zaragoza….You can ask for information regarding guided visits of the cathedral in the tourist office opposite the Pilar (check times).

If we have left early enough we will have time to take part in one of the guided visits organised by Zaragoza Tourism. CHOCOTOUR is without doubt one of the most original, a surprising route that allows us to enjoy all the different textures and flavours of chocolate and at the same time to visit the old quarter. For families we would highlight DIVERTOUR (a fun and participative guided tour), the BIZITOUR (with Zaragoza Bici you can hire a bicycle for three consecutive days and take part in a guided ride along the bike paths on the banks of the river). If you choose to catch one of the versions of the Tourist Bus (MEGABUS, TOURIST BUS OR NIGHT BUS) you can find bus stops very close to the Hotel Don Yo allowing you to move around the city without having to walk too far.

By this time our bodies will be ready for a break, and what better than spending time following one of the most deeply rooted customs in our country: tapas! We are in one of the best areas for it: the Old Quarter. The most popular places: the Plaza Santa Marta (the plaza located behind the Seo Cathedral) and the well-known “Tubo” area. Here you will be able to enjoy a large variety of tapas, canapés and regional wines.
And as man cannot live on tapas alone, after the aperitif what better than returning to the hotel to eat in the Centenario Restaurant, a large and welcoming establishment with natural light offering an impeccable signature cuisine that perfectly combines the most traditional flavours with modern innovative recipes. It also offers an excellent wine cellar, a true star among lovers of fine dining. A must see in Zaragoza. After eating, a little time to relax so that in the afternoon we can continue on with the tour.
We will leave the hotel and go to visit the area of the Expo, catching the cable car (check times) and from a height of 50 metres looking down over the river Ebro, we will see the spectacular views of the city and what was the Expo exhibition site (open at weekends and on national holidays). As the walk to the cable car is quite long, you can catch the number 51 bus from the stop just 30 seconds from the hotel.
We will visit the River Aquarium, the largest fresh water aquarium in Europe and the third in the world (it has around 5000 specimens) and stroll around the Metropolitan Water Park where we can get an adrenaline rush practising rafting, hydrospeed, canoeing, zip lines etc.. or if you prefer quieter activities you can enjoy a visit to the botanical gardens, a train ride, a bike ride, etc. (check times)
Before going back to the Hotel, and to get the most out of our day, we can catch the tourist night bus, an open-top bus that allows you to appreciate the beauty of Zaragoza’s monuments when lit up.
